An online course for neurotypicals married to people with autism. (And for non-autistic neurodivergents, too!)
LEARN FROM AN EXPERT
Anne MacMillan realized her husband of 20 years was autistic while working on her master's in psychology at Harvard University.
She moved forward to do some of the first quantitative research in the world on the subject of autism and marriage, receiving the Director's Thesis Award for her work. Her personal experiences with autism and marriage were so extreme that she felt compelled research the topic from the neurotypical perspective rather than focusing solely on the autistic partner.
Anne has been consulting and coaching individuals managing autism and marriage and divorce since 2017, working with either the neurotypical or the autistic partner (but never with both). She uses a growth coaching approach in an effort to help clients define their own wants, needs and life objectives and then plan a path forward and achieve them.
Anne is neurotypical and has autistic siblings and an autistic parent.
She well understands that what neurotypical partners really need is Connection and Ease.

Found her insights spot on. I gifted this course to 2 others before I even finished it. Refreshing thoughts. Focus is on you, the NT of the relationship with great ways to look at things from both sides. Been married to Autism for 45 years and found this course something I will review on a regular basis to support myself.

This course is God sent for me. For the first time I have found someone who truly understands my situation. It has been the most validating set of videos I have viewed and I wish all NT spouses could watch. Thank you!

Wow! where do I start? This course is a life saver. I ended up listening back to back and now I'm going through again and completing the resources.
This course explains my life over the last 37 years and has confirmed that some strategies that I have put in place over the years have been to protect me from the effect of our neuro-diversities.

This is a MUST for anyone who has a partner with autism. No matter where you are in your relationship, even if your relationship has ended, this is for YOU! Anne’s knowledge, compassion, guidance is unparalleled and unprecedented. Thank you Anne.
We begin our journey focused on YOU — YOUR unique neurology and YOUR needs. We start with YOU understand that you didn't choose your specific neurology yet it significantly impacts YOUR level of happiness and satisfaction in YOUR marriage.
Unlike many resources out there, this course places the spotlight on YOU, the neurotypical partner. 🧠 Of course, we'll delve into autism since this course revolves around being married to someone who is autistic. However, our primary focus will be on empowering YOU because YOU deserve it. We firmly believe that nurturing YOUR well-being is crucial for finding the Connection and Ease YOU seek.
In Journey Section 1, "What Does it mean to be Neurotypical?"
we explore a vital concept called "body empathy" and its connection to you and your brain. We delve into how body empathy contributes to your adult development and the disconnect you might experience in your neurodiverse relationship. This foundational knowledge will serve as a solid base for our journey in the upcoming sections.
As you progress through the course, the decision to prioritize neurotypicals will become clearer and more meaningful. We understand that it's essential to recognize that both partners in a neurodiverse marriage are equally important, and that a healthy marriage can't solely about the autistic partner or the disability.
That's why we made this course designed for YOU, YOUR needs, and for YOUR personal growth. Section One is the place to start -- it's the perfect place to begin your transformation.

Thank you for putting the puzzle pieces together and making sense out of what I have been living the last four years.

I have been with a partner with Autism since 2004. I'm a speech language pathologist so I work with people with Autism (usually kids). However I didn't make the connection that my partner has it as well. I went to so many counselors and have been through, well, so much abuse and carelessness. I felt like there was nothing for us neurotypicals. Thank you for your recognition and your help.
